Looking to Spice Things Up in the Bedroom But Just Aren’t Feeling It?

ED, Libido, sexual health hormone replacement therapy

ED, Libido, sexual health hormone replacement therapyAs we age, it’s natural for our bodies to undergo significant changes, many of which can affect our sexual health and overall vitality. For both men and women, these changes can lead to a decrease in libido and sexual performance. Fortunately, Vitality Health of South Florida offers a range of solutions to help you reclaim your sexual wellness and confidence.

Overcoming Challenges

For women entering perimenopause and menopause, hormonal fluctuations can drastically impact sex drive. Symptoms such as vaginal dryness, pain during intercourse, and decreased interest in sex are common. Men, on the other hand, may experience andropause, characterized by a gradual decline in testosterone levels, leading to erectile dysfunction (ED), reduced libido, and fatigue.

Personalized Hormonal Testing and Treatment at Vitality Health

Complete Hormone Testing

Before any treatment, understanding your unique hormonal profile is crucial. Vitality Health provides comprehensive hormone testing to evaluate levels of key hormones that affect sexual health. This baseline helps in tailoring the most effective treatment plans for each individual.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) for Men

TRT addresses low testosterone (LOW TEE) levels, a common issue in men with andropause. By restoring testosterone levels, TRT can significantly improve erectile function, libido, energy levels, and overall mood.

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) for Women

BHRT uses hormones that are chemically identical to those produced by your body. For women experiencing menopause, BHRT can alleviate symptoms like hot flashes and mood swings, while also rejuvenating sexual desire and comfort.

Innovative Treatments for Sexual Wellness

The P-Shot® Platelet-Rich Plasma Treatment

The P-Shot® involves injecting platelet-rich plasma (PRP) derived from your own blood into the penile tissue. This stimulates new tissue growth and improves blood flow, resulting in stronger and more sustainable erections.

Peptides Bremelanotide PT-141

Originally developed for female sexual dysfunction, Bremelanotide PT-141 has shown promise in increasing sexual arousal and desire in both men and women. It works by activating pathways in the brain involved in sexual response.

Erectile Dysfunction Medication Options

Vitality Health offers several medications that have been proven effective in treating ED:

  • – Trimix: A compounded injectable medication containing three active ingredients that work together to enhance blood flow to the penis.
  • – Vardenafil (Levitra): Similar to Sildenafil but may be preferred due to fewer side effects in some men.
  • – Sildenafil Citrate (Viagra): Increases blood flow to the penis, helping to achieve and maintain an erection.
  • – Tadalafil (Cialis): Known for its longer-lasting effects, it can enhance erectile function for up to 36 hours.

Wondering About the Benefits of Medical Weight Loss? We Have Your Answers

medical weight loss tirzepatide and semaglutide from Vitality health South Florida

medical weight loss tirzepatide and semaglutide from Vitality health South FloridaAt Vitality Health of South Florida, they understand that weight loss is a struggle for many. Diet and exercise programs often fall short for those battle with obesity, leaving individuals feeling frustrated and defeated which often leads to giving up.

Medical science and research backed weight loss may just be your answer. This is an in depth look at the benefits of four key medications: Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, Naltrexone HCL, and 7-Keto-DHEA, and how they can help you achieve a healthier, sustainable weight.

Tirzepatide: Dual Action for Enhanced Results

Tirzepatide is another innovative medication that offers dual benefits for weight loss. It combines the effects of GLP-1 and another hormone, GIP, which both play roles in regulating blood sugar and appetite. By targeting these two pathways, Tirzepatide not only helps control hunger but also improves insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism. This dual action makes Tirzepatide particularly effective for individuals with obesity and type 2 diabetes. Studies have demonstrated that patients on Tirzepatide can achieve weight loss results comparable to, or even exceeding, those of Semaglutide.

Semaglutide: A Powerful Ally in Weight Loss

Semaglutide is a game-changer in the realm of medical weight loss. Originally developed to treat type 2 diabetes, this medication has been found to significantly aid in weight loss. Semaglutide works by mimicking a hormone called GLP-1, which regulates appetite and food intake. By enhancing the feeling of fullness and reducing hunger, Semaglutide helps individuals consume fewer calories, leading to substantial weight loss. Clinical trials have shown that patients taking Semaglutide can lose an average of 15-20% of their body weight, making it a highly effective option for long-term weight management.

7-Keto-DHEA: Boosting Metabolism Naturally

7-Keto-DHEA is a naturally occurring metabolite of the hormone DHEA, which plays a role in metabolism and energy production. Unlike DHEA, 7-Keto-DHEA does not convert into sex hormones, making it a safer option for weight loss. This supplement enhances thermogenesis, the process by which the body burns calories to produce heat. By boosting metabolism, 7-Keto-DHEA helps individuals lose weight more efficiently and maintain their progress over time. Additionally, it has been shown to improve immune function and reduce inflammation, offering further health benefits beyond weight loss.

Naltrexone HCL: Curbing Cravings and Compulsions

Naltrexone HCL is primarily known for its use in treating substance abuse disorders, but it has also proven beneficial for weight loss. In combination with other medications, such as Bupropion, Naltrexone helps to curb cravings and reduce compulsive eating behaviors. It works by blocking opioid receptors in the brain, which are involved in rewarding and reinforcing behaviors. By reducing the pleasure associated with eating, Naltrexone helps individuals break the cycle of emotional and binge eating, contributing to healthier eating habits and sustained weight loss.

Sustainable Weight Loss

At Vitality Health of South Florida, they believe that medical weight loss treatments can provide a sustainable and effective solution for individuals struggling with obesity. Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, Naltrexone HCL, and 7-Keto-DHEA each offer unique benefits that can be tailored to meet your specific needs.

Can Semaglutide and Tirzepatide Offer Long-Term Weight Loss Solutions?

Can Semaglutide and Tirzepatide Offer Long-Term Weight Loss Solutions? Vitality Health SFL

Can Semaglutide and Tirzepatide Offer Long-Term Weight Loss Solutions? Vitality Health SFLThere seems to be a lot of conversation circulating lately, regarding GLP-1 medications like Semaglutide and Tirzepatide as to if these medications are a long-term, sustainable weight loss solution. Depending on the article that you read or the physician you consult with, you may hear a variety of answers. We are happy to join the conversation and provide information from a clinician’s perspective, what we see day to day with hundreds of patients over a 12-month period.

Obesity plagues a large percentage of society, for a variety of reasons. With obesity, a person may encounter a complexity of health issues, disorders, diseases, and depression. For a large portion of these individuals, and if they were able to simply reduce body fat, body, weight, cholesterol, and blood sugar, many and if not most of all health issues these individuals have been dealing with may not be present and for that reason, the importance of reducing body fat, body weight, and becoming a healthier happier person.

Many of the patients that we have consulted with have described this type of weight loss program protocol with Semaglutide or Tirzepatide as life-changing, motivating, and has allowed them to get back on track and to become the person that they once were. To expand on that conversation, many of these same patients we have consulted with have simply said that they had given up on dieting, losing weight altogether after many failed attempts. Although these weight loss protocols may not be appropriate for all individuals, we find that they can be a great help and allow a person to relearn healthy eating habits, portion control, and lifestyle. By eating less, and losing weight, many of these patients become highly motivated and then decide to embark on a new walking, workout, or exercise routine, which only in return, helps them move closer to their personal health goal day by day.

All of these factors are highly important when considering long-term health, happiness, and quality of life!

Additionally, we have seen with many patients and even after stopping Semaglutide and Tirzepatide that weight loss can be permanent and sustainable. The reason, as explained by the patients we’ve consulted with, they’ve learned new habits, have learned portion control, and feel so good about themselves that they never want to return to the unhealthy state in which they once were. Instead of walking around the kitchen, looking through the cupboards and refrigerator, or eating to cope with unhappiness, they find themselves, going for a walk or doing something different that they enjoy because they are emotionally happy and have formed new positive life habits.

Of course, this may not be true with all patients or in all situations, but we thought it was important to note what we have seen, what’s possible, and that Semaglutide and Tirzepatide can offer long-term sustainable weight loss solutions.

The potential health benefits of Semaglutide may include:

Blood Sugar Control: Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It helps increase insulin secretion while decreasing glucagon production, which leads to better control of blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes.

Weight Loss: When used at a higher dose (2.4 mg once a week), Semaglutide has been shown to promote significant and sustained weight loss in people without diabetes. It can help individuals achieve weight loss by reducing appetite, increasing feelings of fullness, and slowing down gastric emptying.

Cardiovascular Benefits: Semaglutide has demonstrated cardiovascular benefits, reducing the risk of major cardiovascular events in individuals with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease.

Reduced Risk of Hypoglycemia: Unlike some other diabetes medications, Semaglutide has a lower risk of causing hypoglycemia (low blood sugar levels) when used as monotherapy.

Improved Blood Pressure and Lipid Levels: Studies have suggested that Semaglutide may have positive effects on blood pressure and lipid profiles, potentially reducing the risk of cardiovascular complications.

Non-Diabetic Benefits: Research is ongoing to explore the potential benefits of Semaglutide in non-diabetic individuals, particularly in the context of obesity management.

The potential health benefits of Tirzepatide may include:

Improved Blood Sugar Control: Tirzepatide, being a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist, can simultaneously stimulate the release of insulin and inhibit the release of glucagon, leading to better control of blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes.

Weight Loss: Clinical trials have demonstrated that Tirzepatide can lead to significant and sustained weight loss in people with type 2 diabetes and obesity. The combined GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonism may result in enhanced effects on appetite regulation and energy balance, leading to weight reduction.

Cardiovascular Benefits: Early data from clinical trials suggest that Tirzepatide may have cardiovascular benefits, similar to other GLP-1 receptor agonists. It may reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events in individuals with type 2 diabetes and established cardiovascular disease.

Potential Once-Weekly Dosing: Tirzepatide is being evaluated for once-weekly dosing, which can improve patient convenience and adherence compared to some other diabetes medications that require daily dosing.

Non-Diabetic Benefits: Like Semaglutide, another GLP-1 receptor agonist, Tirzepatide is also being investigated for potential benefits in non-diabetic individuals, particularly for obesity management.

It’s important to note that while Semaglutide and Tirzepatide offer several benefits, their usage should be carefully considered under the supervision of a healthcare professional. Like any medication, Semaglutide and Tirzepatide may have side effects, contraindications, and interactions with other drugs that need to be considered when determining their suitability for an individual’s specific medical condition.

The Causes of Lower Back Pain
Lower back pain is a common health complaint among adults, affecting nearly 80% of individuals at some point in their lives. It is characterized by discomfort in the lower back region, typically below the ribs and above the legs. The causes of lower back pain can range from simple muscle strains to more complex issues like spinal stenosis or herniated discs. Poor posture, obesity, and a sedentary lifestyle are also known risk factors.

If you’re experiencing persistent lower back pain, it’s important to seek medical attention to ensure proper diagnosis and treatment
.

How can Chiropractic Care Help with Low Back Pain
Chiropractic care is one potential solution that can help relieve pain and improve function of the entire spine including the lower back.

This form of care focuses on manipulating the spine and other musculoskeletal structures, which can effectively reduce pain and stiffness associated with low back pain.

The benefits of chiropractic care include improved mobility, reduced inflammation, and enhanced overall function. By addressing the root cause of low back pain, chiropractic care can help individuals achieve long-lasting relief and improved quality of life.

How Chiropractic Care Works
By manipulating the spine and surrounding muscles, chiropractors can alleviate pressure on the nerves and increase mobility. This not only provides relief for existing pain but can also prevent future issues from arising. Chiropractic care is non invasive and less expensive than other treatments such as surgery or prescription drugs.

Different Types of Chiropractic Techniques
Chiropractic care relies on a variety of methods to help alleviate pain and improve spinal health. From the gentle, low-force approach of Activator Technique to the more traditional spinal manipulation of Gonstead Technique, Flexion-Distractions, and the Thompson Technique, a skilled chiropractor such as Dr. Jason Kaster, D.C. of the West Coast Integrative Wellness Center, formerly Kaster Chiropractic & Associates, will be able to tailor their treatment to your specific needs.

The goal is to restore proper alignment and function to your spine, allowing your body to heal itself naturally.

Wegovy Helps to Correct Insulin Resistance in Those with Type II Diabetes

Wegovy Helps to Correct Insulin Resistance in Those with Type II Diabetes Vitality Health SFL Wegovy

Wegovy Helps to Correct Insulin Resistance in Those with Type II Diabetes Vitality Health SFL WegovyWegovy (also labeled and sold under the names Ozempic and Semaglutide) have been a smashing success in the weight loss industry as well as the medical field. Wegovy is a pharmaceutical grade injectable that has helped millions control blood sugar and lose weight as an added benefit.

A Look at Diabetes Type II

When you have Type II Diabetes, what happens is that when food is consumed your body does not process the insulin correctly. While some can manage this through diet and exercise alone, many require medication daily.

Insulin Resistance Defined

If your body is reacting resistantly to insulin from food sources the cells in your fat, muscle, and liver don’t respond well and cannot absorb the insulin from your blood stream. The result is that your pancreas must work harder to create more insulin so that the glucose can enter your cells for energy.

This Incorrect Reaction Has Consequences On The Body
These consequences can include metabolic issues such as hypertension, elevated inflammatory markers, hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, visceral adiposity, endothelial dysfunction, and a prothrombic state. This will add extra weight even if you exercise daily.

Wegovy to the Rescue!

This is why the discovery of Wegovy has been so readily welcomed. It can help balance the body’s ability to properly use the food and energy sources. When your body is in balance your blood sugar remains stable, you feel less hungry because your body isn’t searching for energy. This leads to the ability to lose weight.

Wegovy Works to Help Fight Diabetes and Release Excess Fat

Wegovy is in a class of medications known as incretin mimetics. These medications work by assisting the pancreas to release just the right amount of insulin when blood sugar levels are elevated. Insulin helps move sugar from the blood into other body tissues where it is used for energy. It comes in the form of an injection.

Who Can Take Wegovy?

Wegovy is recommended for those with Type II Diabetes who are insulin resistant and overweight or obese.

Can I take Wegovy for Weight Loss if I Have Not Been Diagnosed as Diabetic?

In patients who are not diabetic but show signs of insulin resistance as well as metabolic syndrome where weight loss has been unsuccessful through simple diet and exercise Wegovy is often prescribed.

Wegovy mimics the hormone called GLP-1, produced in the brain and controls both how full you feel after eating as well as your appetite. Wegovy by its composition is a Glucagon-like peptide-1 that acts by sending signals to the brain as the body has had enough food.

Doctors can prescribe Wegovy for adults are obese, with a body mass index (BMI) of greater than 30; or overweight, with a BMI greater than 27 accompanied by weight-related medical problems such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol.

If You Believe That You Might be a candidate for Wegovy, we invite you to contact Vitality Health of South Florida.

Cortisone Pain Shots – What You Need to Know Before Injecting

chiropractic is better for pain than cortisone injections

chiropractic is better for pain than cortisone injectionsCortisone injections are touted as the go-to best treatment for pain relief, but is that really true?

If your doctor is recommending injection therapy, it’s important to get the facts.

While these injections do help many, they do not work for all and even worse, they make actually do more harm than good for some.

Cortisone was developed back in the 1940s. It has become one of the most commonly prescribed pain relievers on the market today. It is known for rapid relief for even the most painful of conditions.

Early studies questioned the long-term effects of cortisone. In 1954, a study revealed that over half of the patients who received shots for tendinitis experienced a relapse within six months. Despite this, this drug became a standard treatment for many tendon and joint problems, with over 9 million yearly injections being given.

What is Cortisone?

Cortisone is a steroid that helps combat inflammation (swelling in soft tissue).

New Research May Have You Thinking Twice

The majority of injuries corticosteroids are prescribed for occur over an extended period of time due to excess stress placed on an area of soft tissue where there is a micro tear formation. Because of the excess pressure, tendons and ligaments can fray and become replaced with scar tissue. Buildup of scar tissue contributes to chronic pain and is not the same as a short-term inflammatory process for an acute injury.

How Could Cortisone Make an Injury/Pain Worse?

Cortisone eliminates the inflammation phase which is necessary for the healing process. Without the inflammatory response, it can accelerate tendon and ligament degeneration. Swelling and inflammation from acute injury supply extra oxygen and nutrients to speed the repair process. Clotting proteins enter the damaged area and form a gel-like mesh that holds together tissue for repair.

Interesting Medical Fact

The medical community has moved from labeling tendon damage tendonitis (the “itis” ending referring to inflammation) to tendinopathy. This change emphasizes that degeneration is the issue, not inflammation itself.

What the Current Studies Say…

When looking at hip, shoulder, and elbow pain researchers found that the shots did bring fast pain relief. In fact, it lasted several weeks. When the patients were re-examined at 6 months and a year the results were not nearly so rosy. Overall, people who received cortisone shots had a much lower rate of recovery than those who rested, used chiropractic care, or went to physical therapy.

Some important stats

-Those who did the shots had a 63% higher risk of relapse

-Those who received multiple injections had a 57% risk of worse outcomes when compared to single injection

-Research has shown that for every cortisone injection your risk of bone fracture due to demineralization increases by 21%

A Better Approach to Pain Relief

At Kaster Chiropractic, we help patients improve their movement and reduce inflammation naturally.

Improving Movement and Range: Improving joint movement allows the musculoskeletal system to work correctly. This is at the heart of treating injuries at Kaster Chiropractic.

Strengthen the Supporting Structures: It is vital to strengthen the muscles that support the joint and help to control movement. Rehabilitation exercises combined with regular chiropractic adjustments are vital to keeping the low back moving properly.

Reduce Inflammation Naturally: The intensity of pain is often increased in those who have systemic inflammation. By eating a clean anti-inflammatory diet, you can reduce pain intensity and sensitivity.

Relax the Body – Massage, Yoga, Meditation, and Epsom Salts Baths can all help to allow the body to relax and reduce pain levels.
